Cast rings are often preferred for stock rebuilds due to the lower cost.
Moly rings are preferred for quicker break in, higher resistance to wear, especially in high-load applications such as performance or towing, and higher heat resistance, but are more sensitive to damage from detonation under nitrous.
Chrome rings (special order only) are recommended for maximum lifespan in extremely dusty / dirty or no-air-cleaner applications.
Other bore sizes are also available by special order.
