Headers

Easy fit, properly designed for Cad applications.
The following information applies to all headers unless otherwise noted.
Fully CNC mandrel bent heavy gauge tubing, jig welded, with 3/8 flanges, machined flat after welding, for a reliable seal.
Headers are a mid-length design, 1 3/4″ primaries and 3″ collectors, designed for optimum performance from stock to performance builds. Higher end builds (over 500 real HP) may benefit from larger tube headers.On most stock and street performance builds, these headers beat anything else available on the dyno.
Prices are for headers in bare steel, unless otherwise noted.
Note: Headers are designed to fit listed applications with no further modification, assuming the engine is mounted in the location we mount them. Different installations may require custom fitting.

‘68-’76 RWD Cadillac (All exc. Seville) $495
On ’68-’70 model cars, you may or may not have to trim or remove the sheet metal shields over the upper control arms.
You will also have to relocate the brake proportioning valve to the top of the frame rail, if it is mounted to the inside of the frame rail. This does not require breaking the seal on the brake lines – they can be easily tweaked while connected, if you are careful.
Also used for most RWD / rear-steer swaps
Can be used in ’64-’67 Cadillacs with a 472, 500, or 425 CID swap, but often requires minor modification.

‘77-’79 RWD Cadillac (All exc.Seville) $495
Will also fit ’80-’85 RWD Cadillacs with a 472, 500, or 425 CID swap.

‘68-’78 Eldorado $495
’68-’78 Eldorado with 2″ primaries $525 Will also fit ’79-’85 Eldorados with a 472, 500, or 425 CID swap.
If your transmission dipstick tube support bracket uses an exhaust manifold bolt, you will have to modify the bracket to fit.

G-body $495 Fits ‘78-’87 G-Body (Monte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino, Regal, Cutlass, Grand Prix, etc).
Desinged for use with our bolt-in motor mount kit.
If using our universal motor mount kit or fabricating your own mounts, you will need to have the headers on the engine while setting up the mounts to ensure they will fit.

Universal Mid-Length Headers $495
Designed to fit ’73-’92 and ’88-’95 chevy Trucks, 2nd Gen (’70-’81) F-body (Camaro and Firebird), and front-steer (most 70s models) X-body (Nova, Omega, Ventura, Appolo, etc).
Also known to fit non-torsion bar ’63-’66 Chevy trucks, all ’67-’72 Chevy trucks, and front-steer Ford trucks.
Fits in most front-steer mid-size and full size GM swaps (A, B, and C bodies, such as Chevelle, Malibu, Monte Carlo, Cutlass, Skylark, Bonneville, Impala, Caprice, Lesabre, Perrisiene, etc.) with little or no modification.
This is the header used for most undocumented RWD / front steer swaps, as well.
Note: 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks have a wider frame rail, and therefore less clearance for headers. You may or may not have to clearance the frame slightly for header clearance on these applications. No clearancing is necessary on 1/2 ton trucks.

GMC Motorhomes (FWD) (mandrel bent) $795

These fit in most Cadillac engine swaps into the 70s Olds-powered GMC FWD Motor Homes.
Designed for use with our bolt-in motor mount kit, but fir other swaps as well.
These headers are hand built, and Mig welded, not mass produced.
If your transmission dipstick tube support bracket uses an exhaust manifold bolt, you will have to modify the bracket to fit.

1st Gen F-body (mandrel bent) $795

Will fit other ’67-’69 F-body and rear-steer X-body swaps with little or no modification in most cases.
These headers are hand built, and Mig welded, not mass produced.

Block Huggers Street rod style, center exit $395
Block Huggers Street rod style, center exit, w/ 1 7/8″ primaries $325
These are the classic street rod header.
The collector is in the center of the engine, pointing straight down.
Will not fit in pretty much any chassis with a cross member going under the engine.
Note: The 1 3/4″ version is a Cad Company product, and is substantially tighter to the block, and noticeably better quality, than the 1 7/8″ version (not a Cad Company product).

Coating

3 year limited warranty against header rust-out.
Standard coating is silver, machine-polished to a high luster for lasting good looks.
Other finishes available for an additional charge.
We generally stock the RWD Cadillac (early and late), G-body, and Universal styles already coated.
If the header style you want is not available coated in-stock, coating usually adds 3-5 days to delivery.

Header Flanges

For those less common swaps, we stock a header flange kit that’ll work in just about any swap.
Standard flanges have square ports to match the Cadillac cylinder heads.
Here’s the concept: You buy whatever common big-block header fits your chassis. Slice and dice the existing flanges off the headers. Heat and bend the appropriate tubes until on center with Caddy port centers. Square up the tubes, tuck ‘em inside the Caddy flanges and you’re just a trial fit away from having it all done.
Also used for building custom headers from scratch, when that is the best path to take. Get a ‘custom header kit’ (aka box-o-bends and a pair of collectors), cut and tack them together so they fit in the car, then pull them off and finish weld them (or have them finish welded by a pro).
All flanges are 3/8” thick to provide a good seal.

Exhaust bolt kits come in half-sets of 8 bolts, short or long. Most early manifolds need 1 kit of long bolts per manifold (2 per engine).
Most late manifolds need 1 kit of short bolts per manifold (2 per engine). Some manfiolds alternate long / short bolts, so require 1 kit of long bolts and 1 kit of short bolts per engine.
These kits do not have the bolts with studs sticking out for mounting the heat shroud for the cold start tube used with stock air cleaners.
These kits are only for ’68-’85 472 / 500 / 425 / 368 engines. They will not fit earlier engines such as the 429.
