350 H series camshaft
This cam will generally put the meat of the powerband in the 2600-5800 RPM range. That means that for an exclusively drag-race-only application, you might want the converter to stall as high as 2600 RPM, and you would want to shift around 5800 RPM, if everything else is optimized for that RPM range. This cam runs great right off idle, as all real street cams should, and for applications involving street use, we recommend a more street-friendly stall speed for the converter.
Good ignition and exhaust recommended. Expect a hot-rod Idle. This cam is a good choice for truly streetable performance, as well as certain classes of gearbox-driven airboats.
Our camshafts are ground to our proprietary specifications by reliable, long-time suppliers. All grinds are geared toward maximizing performance, both for horsepower and torque, and all are ground on new cam blanks, unless otherwise specified, and are Made in the USA.
The grinds recommended for street applications do not generally require longer pushrods, like regrinds and some brands’ “new” camshafts do (though we do stock over-length pushrods for those who already have one of those). However, also note that many aftermarket rocker setups do require different length pushrods. Note that these grinds are not static – the part numbers stay consistent for idle quality and approximate size, but we are constantly updating our cam profiles due to continued testing on our in house dyno, and the frequent introduction of new lobe profiles, technologies, etc.
As you see, we have listed our most popular profiles, but with hundreds of grinds in our database, we are not limited to what you see. Due to the obvious, we do not disclose proprietary specifications. You will be provided a Camshaft Data Sheet with the purchase of a cam kit from us giving you all the spec’s needed to install and degree your camshaft properly, as well as instructions for installation. We will be glad to help you with cam and kit selection when you are ready to purchase. This way, we can assure you of spending your money in the right place, in the first place.
That’s what separates engine builders from phone salesmen.
If you are looking for a specific set of specs, we’d be happy to grind you a custom stick, and recommend the appropriate spring and lifter package.
Note: ‘CTA’ cams are optimized for the best mix of drivability and performance for 8-9:1 engines, while the ‘SS’ series cams are optimized for the best mix of drivability and performance for higher compression ratios such as 10:1. That does not mean those cams must be run within the recommended compression ratio range (the differences are not huge), but it never hurts to order the cam optimized for what you are running. The overwhelming majority of stock engines are low compression – if you aren’t sure, the CTA version is the safer bet, especially if you are choosing a smaller cam.
PC-series cams are optimized for maximum performance exclusively, and all (even the smaller ones) have a lopey idle.
All Cad Company camshafts are only available ground on new billets, unless otherwise specified.
We do offer springs and lifters separately, but purchasing the cam kit is a better deal, and ensures all of your components will work together as expected. Kit Pricing is for the Camshaft, as well as appropriate lifters, springs, retainers, locks, and valve stem seals.
We also offer blower and turbo versions of most cams – call for applications and pricing.
Cams generally come with a complimentary single-serving-size cam lube as available.
The spring kits included in our cam kits do not generally require machining the heads to install, but we can’t speak to what repairs / modifications have been made to _your_ heads over the years, that may affect spring installation. The kits are intended to fit correctly on heads with unmodified spring seats, stock valve stem height, and either stock or our oversized valves, to give you the correct spring installed height and pressures when using all of the included hardware.
